Wine of the Month

2013 Zorzal Wines Terroir  Unico Malbec
“The 2013 Terroir Unico Malbec is unoaked and sourced from a special vineyard close to the winery. It does have a strong sense of minerality and the pure character of the Malbec, with fresh floral notes (violets), pungent aromatic herbs (lavender), and a spicy twist. The palate is very fluid, with tension.  This is pure Malbec juice such that I had not experienced before. Unbelivable quality for the price!”

Wine of the Week

Every year we select one special red wine that stands head and shoulders above the rest, reflecting the absolute pinnacle of quality and value. After tasting hundreds of great contenders over recent months we were won over by a show-stopping blend from one of the most talked-about producers in the wine world. Winemaker Dave Phinney, the man behind the cult wines of Orin Swift, has struck gold with his bold concept of choosing the finest hillside, old-vine grapes from Spain's top wine regions - Tempranillo from Rioja, Grenache from Priorat, Monastrell from Jumilla and more - bringing together the very best of Spain in one ultimate blend. Each year this wine just keeps getting better and we think this is Phinney's finest release to date, even besting the previous vintage rated 93 points by Robert Parker in our side by side taste test. One sip and its easy to see this is simply on another level.

Spirit of the Month

Tullibardine Highland Scotch
Matured in bourbon barrels, this whisky opens with spring flowers and sense of new mown hay, a touch of vanilla and soft fudge. After a few minutes of aeration the grassy tones mellow and are taken over by floral and fruit. The palate is rich and creamy, with milk chocolate, malted barley, pear drops, cinnamon, vanilla and a long spicy finish.
