Beaujolais is Burgundy, but not all Burgundy is Beaujolais

April 21, 2018, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Our whites this week all come from France’s Burgundy region, which produces some of the finest wines in the world. Revered for it’s soil and climate, the white wines of this region are famous for their complexity and minerality. Less famous is Beaujolais, a broad region located in the south of Burgundy. While technically classified as Burgundy, the grape variety in Beaujolais is Gamay, and is considered a hidden gem in the wine world! Each Cru Beaujolais has their own charm and personality and this is a great opportunity to taste the varieties and nuances from several of the region’s terroirs.
