Wines from the Land Down Under!

January 5, 2019, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Australian wines have a strong international presence for a reason – they’re good! It's all about old vines, classic wines, and family run businesses when it comes to Australian wines.

This Saturday, we will be sampling a variety of some awe-inspiring Aussie wines from the Barossa Valley, the Padthaway coast, and Eden Valley.

2017 Jip Jip Rocks Chardonnay
Padthaway, Australia
Jip Jip Rocks Chardonnay is made from 100 percent unoaked Chardonnay. Light yellow with a pale straw hue with a classic nose of lemon, fresh stone fruit, and melon. The palate is clean and fresh with mineral characters underpinning ripe pineapple and lime flavors. This wine will age beautifully over the next 4-5 years. 90 Points, Wine Advocate
Regular Price $14.99 per bottle, $179.88 per case
Sale price $12.99 per bottle, $155.88 per case

2015 Eden Trail Shiraz
Eden Valley, South Australia, Australia
The Eden Valley is higher in elevation than the neighboring Barossa Valley, and this wine shows some of the crisp acids for which the region is known. Vanilla and cedar notes dominate the nose, backed by muscular red-berry fruit and some chunky tannins on the long, mouthwatering finish. For a $21 Shiraz, this shows admirable cellaring potential. Drink 2020–2030. 92 Points Wine Spectator, 91 Points Wine Enthusiast, 90 Points Wine Advocate

2016 Terra Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon
Barossa Valley, Australia
The wine shows a bright red with a purple hue on release. Lifted blackcurrant balances the fresh herb characters on the nose. A hint of eucalyptus is evident. The palate has bright currant characters throughout. Spice and chocolate add to the complexity of the wine. The tannins are ripe and grainy and give the wine good structure. 90 Points Wine Advocate
