February 9, 2019, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Get ready for an unforgettable tasting of Rioja! The wines of CVNE are some of the best of the moment coming out of this historical region. We are pleased to welcome Gloria Zapatero, midwest brand manager for CVNE and Rioja expert to help us learn more about the wines and region.

In December 2013 an incredible honor was bestowed on the winery when the 2004 Imperial Gran Reserva achieved the Wine Spectator Number One wine of the year, the first Spanish winery to reach that honor. We will be tasting the 2011 of this iconic wine which received 97 points!

We hope you can join us for this special tasting with a very special guest!

2017 CVNE Monopole Viura White
Rioja, Spain
Made from the Viura grape variety, the 2017 Monopole shows a pale yellow color with greenish reminiscences. The aromas are composed of fruits of the Rioja region, such as apple, pear, white currants and spring flowers. In the mouth it is attractive, in a soft and fresh way, with a long finish that culminates in a fruity aftertaste. 91 Points, James Suckling
Regular Price $18.99 per bottle, $227.88 per case
Sale price $14.99 per bottle, $179.88 per case

2015 CVNE Crianza
Rioja, Spain
“Very pretty plum, cherry and hints of cedar. Medium body, with soft tannins and a delicious finish. Shows the real Rioja character. Delicious always.” 92 Points, James Suckling
Regular Price $18.99 per bottle, $227.88 per case
Sale price $14.99 per bottle, $179.88 per case

2015 Viña Real Crianza
Rioja, Spain
“This is a fuller and richer crianza with dried fruit, meat and spice. Layered and round-textured. Shows soft tannins. Rich and flavorful at the finish. Gorgeous wine.” 92 Points, James Suckling
“The excellent 2015 Viña Real Crianza is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% split between Garnacha Tinta, Mazuelo and Graciano from Rioja Alavesa; it fermented in stainless steel and matured in French and American oak barrels for 13 to 14 months. It's subtle, harmonious and serious, clean and with a good compromise between ripeness and freshness. This is a benchmark Crianza, with a little more fruit and weight than the Cune, with some fine tannins, keeping its poise.” 90 Points, The Wine Advocate
Regular Price $19.99 per bottle, $239.88 per case
Sale price $16.99 per bottle, $203.88 per case

2014 CVNE Reserva
Rioja, Spain
“A quality Rioja that never disappoints. This deep, succulent, rich red will take the edge off the hardest day. Lovely complex range of flavours including leather and vanilla from the oak, smooth rounded tannin intertwine with ripe satisfying cherry flavours. A great blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano grapes from an old school Bodega. 24 months in American (more overt vanilla character) and French (more subtle flavour) oak.” 91 Points, Wine Spectator
Regular Price $32.99 per bottle, $395.88 per case
Sale Price $26.99 per bottle, $323.88 per case

2011 Imperial Gran Reserva
Rioja, Spain
“This is a fabulous gran reserva from a very good but lightly heralded vintage. Aromas of spiced plum, black olive, fig, tobacco and cassis come together like a puzzle. A deep, pure palate shows near-perfect balance, while this tastes of plum, berry fruits and earthy spice. Smooth, elegant and chocolaty on the finish, this delivers all one can ask for from Rioja.” 97 Points, Wine Enthusiast
Regular Price $84.99 per bottle, $1019.88 per case
Sale Price $74.99 per bottle, $899.88 per case
