During the 1980s, Eric Bordelet was once one of the most influential figues in the Parisian wine scene as he spent several years at the helm of the wine program at the illustrious Michelin Three Star restaurant of L’Arpege in Paris. However, his native home of Normandy called him and he handed over his sommelier duties at L’Arpege to return to the windswept orchards of Normandy.He desired to bring his superb palate to bear the high-powered ciders of the region.
Taking over the nineteen hectare family property of Chateau de Hauteville, Eric Bordelet planted several hectares of orchards. Using some of these, along with older orchards planted two-to-three hundred years ago, Eric has risen to prominence as one of the greatest producers of cider in all of Normandy.

Beaujolais Nouveau Day is marked in France on the third Thursday in November with fireworks, music and festivals. Just think, over the course of a mere two months, these grapes went from idling bunches hanging from the vine to a juicy elixir that will inspire song, dance and overall merriment. We are excited to bring you the first wines of the highly anticipated 2018 vintage!
We'll be celebrating at Grapes Wine Bar next door, opening at 12:00pm with a special menu and gobs of Beaujolais by the glass. See you there!
