The Perfect Pair: Thanksgiving Flavors & The Beautiful Wines of Oregon's Willamette Valley

2011 Montinore Estate Borealis
Willamette Valley, Oregon
38% Riesling, 24% Muller-Thargau, 23% Pinot Gris, 15% Gewurztraminer
The aromas cover the full fruit spectrum with notes of papaya, quince, yellow apple and hints of grapefruit and lime made all the more exotic with whiffs of jasmine and sandalwood.  The palate starts with a slightly sweet expression of ripe stone fruit flavors with a crisp acid balance and evolves to a delicious fresh citrus zing on the finish.  This is a great wine for sipping on its own or pairing with fresh fruit and cheese.
Regular price: $14.99 per bottle, $179.88 per case
Sale price: $12.99 per bottle, $155.88 per case

2010 Montinore Estate Almost Dry Riesling
Willamette Valley, Oregon
The flavors are quite subtle and elegant with the slightest suggestion of sweetness.  The fruit builds slowly and softly through the palate, with citrus, quince and pear skin tones giving a nicely aromatic profile.  The finish is rather brisk, with more ripe apple and pear tones and an accompanying snap of cleansing acidity.
Regular price: $15.99 per bottle, $191.88 per case
Sale price: $13.99 per bottle, $167.88 per case

2010 Lange Estate Vineyards Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon
A classic, elegant and approachable Pinot Noir. The nose initially hints at boysenberry jam, then opens in to sweet cherry and savory notes of black pepper and game.  The palate is bright yet complex, with red cherry, cranberry, and herb, cascading in to subtle oak spice, caramel, coffee, and fine-grained tannins.  Enjoy!
Regular price: $25.99 per bottle, $311.88 per case
Sale price: $22.99 per bottle, $275.88 per case

2010 Benton Lane Estate Grown Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon
This brilliantly ruby tinted wine has classic aromas of cherries, red currants and raspberries with more subtle hints of baking spice and vanilla layered in.  On the palate, it exhibits lithe fruitiness and lingering cherry and berry flavors.  The wine shows extraordinary balance and finesse with fine grained tannins that provide a nice framework to the silky mid-palate following through the lingering finish.
Regular price: $29.99 per bottle, $359.88 per case
Sale price: $24.99 per bottle, $299.88 per case

2010 Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon
The 2010 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is already lovely, focused, and precise.  On the nose and on the palate, you will find black cherry, dried cherry, and raspberry, among other fruits.  The second layer is more floral, with violets and lilac.  Given the cool growing season, this cuvee has excellent lift from the bright acidity, and will pair well with many different foods.  Balanced, with excellent length, this wine will easily age for 8-10 years.
Regular price: $44.99 per bottle, $539.88 per case
Sale price: $39.99 per bottle, $479.88 per case
